Venice: The Floating City

Hi again! We hope you're all having a great day full of smiles and laughter. If not, hopefully this blog post makes you grin just a little bit.

Maybe this is just us, but we feel like there's something so magical about the city of Venice. Perhaps it's the fact that it's built on water, or that the architecture is unique and unlike anything we've ever laid an eye on. Whatever it is, something about this city makes us want to come back time and time again.

Give this blog post a read to gear yourself up for a heavenly trip to Venice!

1. Hotels are everything

There's so much to explore in Venice, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't also enjoy time at your hotel. We believe that the ideal hotel is a place where you can unwind and have some quality me-time. Taking all of this into account, we recommend that you stay at the Palazzina Grassi.

What's so great about the Palazzina Grassi?

  • It has a restaurant that serves mouth watering food for each meal of the day

  • The vibe of the hotel is very art deco which is super cool

  • The Palazzina hosts many events for the Venice Film Festival which takes place from August 22 - September 22, so you may spot some celebrities (we saw a certain Hermione Granger 😁😁😁😁😁😁)

  • The rooms are extremely comfortable and quite large

  • The hotel is pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along with you

  • It's very central and there are lots of things to do in the area

What about this hotel might be a dealbreaker?

  • The Palazzina Grassi is rather pricey, so some people may not be able to afford it

This hotel is incredible, but we understand that some of you might be looking for something different. If you don't think this hotel will work for you, check out Booking.com to find Venice hotels at every price range:

3. Activities Galore

The hardest part about planning a vacation is figuring out what on earth you're going to do each day. We don't want you to struggle with this, so here's a list of the best things to do in Venice.

  • Create your own Venetian masks at Ca' Macana

  • Wander through St. Mark's Basilica

  • Go on a gondola tour along the Grand Canal
